2010,
Bronze
30 ½ x 16 ½ x 12 ½ inches
Edition 1/8

Robert refers to this sculpture as being the first in his new series of sculpture that he calls "Self Portraits". The word Humbilty is made from two words: humble and humility. If you know Robert well, then you know that he strongly embraces these two personality traits. The figure is on his knees and reaches skyward, not in defeat, but reaches out in acceptance and surrender of ones self to "God" - the spiritual connection between all humankind, and all that is in the universe, and all that is mindful. The knowing and faith of this spiritual reality gives one the power to endure and to rise up - to love and to breathe purpose into ones life.
